Have you ever noticed there’s a feeling that we feel when letting go of “old” things? 🥀
Making healthy choices doesn’t always feel easy and joyful 💔
Sometimes letting go, or making healthy choices hurt ❤️🩹
This feeling can be similar to Grief.. letting go of our Old Self is sort of like shedding; letting go can feel like a loss ⚡️
I created a video on our YouTube channel from one of our Feel Good Friday sessions in our Affinity Lounge talking about this; you can CHECK IT OUT HERE.
In the meantime, here are a few aspects that can help in this journey (visit our Blog to read more):
- Self-awareness: Recognizing what aspects of your old self are holding you back—whether it’s limiting beliefs, fears, or habits—is the first step in letting go. Journaling or meditation can help with this.
- Acceptance: Accepting that change is natural and that your old self has served its purpose can ease the emotional burden of letting go. It’s important to honor that part of your journey while understanding it’s time to move forward.
- Reframing: Instead of viewing letting go as a loss, it can be helpful to see it as a rebirth or renewal. You’re not discarding who you were; you’re evolving into something more aligned with your current values and aspirations.
- Embracing discomfort: Letting go can bring feelings of uncertainty, but growth often happens outside of our comfort zones. Being patient and compassionate with yourself during this phase is crucial.
- New habits and mindsets: As you release your old self, adopting new routines, perspectives, and goals that align with the person you want to become is important for sustaining the change.
What aspects of your old self are you considering letting go of?
love always,
dani
