LONELINESS

Safe one-on-one sessions to explore who you are and how
you can create new possibilities

Lots of us struggle with loneliness…

Do you lack connections in your world?

You could be in a room of people and still not feel connected to anyone. You feel alone, like someone in a little raft in the middle of the ocean.

Do you feel isolated… regardless of where you are or who’s around?

The people or places that used to bring you joy don’t anymore. It sort of feels like nothing works.

Are you burned out or exhausted when trying to be social?

You overextend yourself by making yourself do things/commit to things, but then wind up feeling tired or exhausted after pushing yourself extremely hard, out of your comfort zone.

Do you feel alienated in your work or other relationships?

It’s hard for you to connect with other people. You have ruminating thoughts about what other people will think of you. You feel different than other people.

Have you experienced the loss of a loved one or a sudden breakup?

Now it feels like there is a hole or gap in your heart. So you fill that hole with different things, but nothing really works or makes you feel better.

Are you feeling empty and alone as you work at home?

You thought you’d enjoy working at home, by yourself. But you’re beginning to notice yourself feel down, disconnected. It almost feels like you’re drifting, and not sure where you’re drifting to or why.

Living a life of loneliness can be so discouraging. It can feel like no one really understands…or even cares. Maybe you’ve tried doing a couple of things here or there to make yourself feel a little better or perk you up a bit, but it doesn’t work. You’re still left with yourself.

Maybe having thoughts like “will this feeling ever go away? Will I ever feel better or ‘normal’?” It can feel even more isolating when the people around you all have someone, and it feels like you have no one.

You notice that it’s hard to make new friends or meet new people. It’s more comfortable to stay disconnected and isolated even though that’s not truly what you want.

It seems like everyone has someone. Except for you, that is.

Long-term loneliness can negatively
affect your health.

Long-term loneliness has significant repercussions on both physical and mental health. It can contribute to weight gain, concentration issues, high blood pressure, substance use, depression, and even heart disease. Loneliness may manifest in varied ways, influencing appetite by causing a loss of interest in food or triggering emotional eating. Cases of prolonged loneliness often intertwine with depression, leading to forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating, affecting daily tasks.

Chronic loneliness further elevates blood pressure, increasing the risk of heart disease, as the body absorbs and retains the stress associated with isolation. Additionally, loneliness may fuel addiction, as individuals may turn to substances to cope with their solitude, creating a cycle where loneliness and substance use reinforce each other.

Loneliness doesn’t have to be a fact of life. I’m here to help…

We’ll create a space for you to reconnect to yourself.

In this space, you can vent, yell, scream, process, think out loud everything that goes on in your mind, even some of the things that maybe you’re embarrassed to admit that you feel or think.

You’ll develop a sense of fulfillment without the need for other people or things.

You’ll feel like you know yourself clearer and better; you’ll become best friends with yourself in such a way that you won’t feel like you need to rely on other people or on things like substances or food to cope.

You’ll gain the tools you need to sustain a deeper connection with yourself (and others).

We’ll create a path for you to become more in-tune with yourself, to help you get yourself out of feeling lonely and isolated, and into loving and caring for yourself.

You’ll learn how to reserve space for
self-awareness and self-love

Together, we’ll transition from feelings of isolation and loneliness to a place of self-understanding and self-love. Our collaborative journey involves exploring the moments when loneliness is most pronounced, unraveling the narratives that contribute to these emotions, and rewriting them for positive change.

During our work, we’ll examine your relationship with yourself and cultivate a life of integrity. Building self-worth involves practicing integrity with oneself and embracing affirmations that resonate with your authentic self.

My approach centers on helping clients establish a loving connection with themselves, diminishing loneliness by fostering self-appreciation.

Our focus extends to identifying and transforming old behavioral patterns that involve self-criticism or negative narratives. Instead, we’ll cultivate new habits that empower you, replacing destructive thoughts with positivity. The goal is to empower you to feel complete and happy within yourself, independent of external factors.
